Jordan's quick visit

We had a fun visit from my brother. He got some dental work done and Tommy got to ride on the paddle boats at the zoo. So great to spend a few days with him and chat late at night like the good olden days.

Cam turned ONE!

So our little man turned one and devoured his blue cupcake. He's our chunky monkey and loves all things sweet. He's crawling super fast and loves to speed away whenever its time to get a diaper change or jammies on. Like Chris, he loves his games which usually involve miming eachother: blinking eyes, peekaboo, exclaiming in the stairway to make it echo, sticking out his tongue. This year has been the fastest of my life.

Cam lately's

So baby Cameron is now over 8 months old. He loves life and we love him like crazy! He now has two teeth, is sitting up, and army crawling. Two things he did lately that really made me smile: when waiting for Tommy and Carson during music lessons with "Ms. Martha," i was playing peek-a-boo with Cameron beside his carseat. He would try to hide his face in the side of his carseat until I said peek-a-boo. Fun playing games with my little guy. He also loves playing with this yellow cup. Today I was sitting with him on our recliner. He would purposely drop the cup, the wriggle to get down. He would crawl to get the cup, bring it back to me, and pull on my pant leg to get back in my lap. Over and over. Nice game of fetch you made up, Cam. Thanks to his star eating, his chubbiness continues to kill me with cuteness. He chows down on everything: noodles, grape insides, oatmeal, and pears are some of his faves.

tommy's bedtime

I just laid Tommy down for bed. Every night he likes me to "lay down with him," which entails me putting my head beside his as I kneel beside his little toddler bed. Sometimes it's for 2 seconds, other times, like tonight, it's for 10 minutes. I admit, if it's been awhile sometimes I put my head on his chest so he might want to push me off and tell me to "sing songs." (which is either twinkle, twinkle, or itsy-bitsy outside his door...a habit picked up after outerbanks when he was falling asleep on the hard floor right behind the door). Anyhow, tonight, I laid my head on his chest and listened to his little heart beat. I tell ya, not many moments and sounds are as sweet to me as a mom as my little 3 year-old's heart beating and his breathing slowing as he falls asleep. precious. I'm still amazed at his body that started so small and works so perfectly. Maybe its because I work with sick babies, but I am always, always, always grateful to have healthy kids.

Did you hear red-heads will cease to be born within 100 years? Sad, cause my kids' hair is one of my favorite features of theirs! We had to cut it recently to reduce the sweat production and its a good change.

summer 2009

It's been awhile, but I got motivated again when looking at the Nelson blog's amazing pics and memories. We've adjusted to a family of 4 and its so fun having two boys. Cameron likes me most if he's hungry, but otherwise his entertainment preference is Tommy. When Tommy spent the night at Carson's house, Cam was definitely not as content without his entertainer of faces, noises, hugs, and kisses. Cam just started rolling back and forth this weekend. He can scoot his little body all around by lifting up his bum and scooting on his heels and back, too cute.
